Animate Solution signed MOU with Lima Korea

Introduction of a patient-tailored shoulder artificial joint surgical guide system and an agreement to expand its application

Animated Solution led by CEO Kim Kook-bae, recently announced a significant business agreement (MOU) with Lima Korea. The collaboration aims to introduce and expand the use of a personalized surgical guide for shoulder artificial joint replacement procedures.

Animedi Solution specializes in providing customized surgical solutions for patients, utilizing AI and 3D printing technologies. Lima Korea serves as the Korean branch of Lima Corporate, an Italian-based global orthopedic medical device company that supplies artificial joint products in the domestic market.

The MOU outlines their cooperation in various areas, including technology, sales, and marketing. Key objectives of the partnership include establishing a shoulder artificial joint surgery solution, expanding the clinical application of the surgical guide, and promoting the adoption of customized medical device technology.

The surgical guide discussed in the agreement is a valuable aid in shoulder joint replacement surgeries, particularly for patients with degenerative arthritis or trauma. Traditionally, medical professionals had to rely on visual observation during surgery to determine the optimal insertion location for the artificial joint. This process was challenging due to the narrow anatomy of the shoulder joint, leading to potential difficulties in precise placement.

With the advent of the customized surgical guide, 3D printing technology plays a crucial role. It allows the guide to be personalized using the patient's medical image data and surgical plan. As a result, the guide assists in accurately positioning the artificial joint according to the pre-determined plan, reducing surgical time and enhancing surgical precision.
